If you concentrate on what you DON'T want - you attract more of it. The whole anti-war movement creates more war,the whole anti-drug movement creates more drugs. Bring your attention from what you DON'T want on what you WANT to achieve/experience/manifest.
Instead of fighting AGAINST anxiety/phobia focus all your energy on everything that is the opposite of it:
Peace
Confidence
Wellbeing
Living in present moment
Positivity
Creativity
Healthy social skills
Concentrating on what is your innermost desire in life, what you want to achieve, what brings you greatest happiness to think of.
On this note,I'm leaving this tribe, see you on the other side ;)

Re: Anxiety and The Secret-or why am I leaving this tribe
Tue, December 18, 2007 - 11:09 AMIt's a good point, and it's true that we can easily attach a sense of victimization to our anxieties and then get stuck in that loop. However, in order to know what we wish to change, it is necessary in the process to acknowledge the existence of those things in our lives. To be stuck there is a problem. To acknowledge and try to work beyond those things is a good part of the value of taking note of them.
There is also the theory of understanding opposites. You can't know darkness if you haven't experienced light; you can't know wet if you haven't experienced dry, etc.
There is also the simple fact that sometimes we need to whine, and be understood. For many of us, I think that is part of the value of this tribe--as long as we don't get stuck there. I'm sorry it didn't work that way for you, Zvonko. I, too, wish you the best in finding a helpful path. -

Re: Anxiety and The Secret-or why am I leaving this tribe
Tue, December 25, 2007 - 11:16 AMWell Said Survivor!
Also sometimes seemingly being stuck on an issue may be a persons momentary protection while working things out; or a person is slower to work things out; or a person hasn't found the type of help they need Yet to overcome what they have worked out; or being stuck is someone else's POV of the person working things out for themselves.
& sometimes there just aren't solutions but having the ____ as part of your life.
People are so complex & just because they are discussing one finite part of themselves or their experiences doesn't meant that is the place they are all day every day. -

Re: Anxiety and The Secret-or why am I leaving this tribe
Thu, December 20, 2007 - 12:46 AMFor sure don't sit around and worry about anxiety all day. But having this group as an educational and support system I think is beneficial. I tried to ignore my anxiety and focus on other things for years and that's what was causing acute panic attacks, since I have now identified and faced them they have almost completely gone away.
I want to stay here and help others as much as I can by offering advice or empathy. This "secret" stuff has some decent basis but people are getting way out of control with it. -

Re: Anxiety and The Secret-or why am I leaving this tribe
Fri, December 28, 2007 - 12:25 PMWhat I seem to "hear" from your post, Chris, is that we each find our own path. I, too, think that this tribe is a good place to learn techniques and viewpoints we hadn't thought of ourselves. I am glad to hear that you feel that you have come to a place of peace with your "stuff." I am glad that you are choosing to stay here and maybe give the rest of us some food for thought. -

Re: Anxiety and The Secret-or why am I leaving this tribe
Fri, December 28, 2007 - 12:39 PMsure, anxiety is a really rough and misunderstood thing, and I still have one issue that gets to me sometimes so I'll be here to help as I can and seek help too :)
